Sunil Belwal founder & CEO of Vayu Music has over 29 years of experience in the music industry. His musical journey began at the young age of five, under the guidance of his father, C. S. Belwal, a master of classical and folk music. This early exposure laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for melody and rhythm.

Sunil pursued formal music education at the Trinity College of London, where he completed Grade 8 in Classical Piano. He received advanced training from his guru, Jubeen Khan, and Jubeen Khan’s son, Robin. Expanding his musical expertise, Sunil went on to achieve Grade 6 in Rock and Pop Guitar and Grade 8 in Electronic Keyboards from the same institution. He also earned a Prabhakar in Classical Music (Guitar) from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

Over the years, Sunil has collaborated with several renowned Bollywood playback singers, performing as a keyboardist and guitarist alongside his guru, Ramesh Mishra. His versatile musicianship has featured in more than 1000 songs across various regional languages.

In 2004, Sunil co-founded his Hindi pop band, Vayu, with Rakesh Bhanot—a gifted classical vocalist and lyricist. The band released its debut album, “Yehi Pyar Hai”, in 2007 through T-Series. The album’s music videos gained wide recognition, airing on major channels like Channel V, MTV, B4U Music, Music India, Zee Music, ETC Punjabi, and MH1.

In 2006, Sunil established the Vayu Music Institute, which today boasts a team of more than 12 dedicated teachers. Among them is his daughter, Unnati Belwal, who specializes in Western and K-pop vocal training. Unnati has completed Grade 8 in Rock and Pop from the Trinity College of London and was awarded first prize in the All-India K-pop Contest (Delhi Region).
